Last Friday of the internship! It’s bittersweet. It finally started feeling real today. This morning I headed straight to the 3rd floor conference room because that’s where all of the sweatshirts are set out for staff to come purchase. Molly and I were stationed for the whole morning. In between distributing sweatshirts I worked on filling out our content documents. I also printed all of the volunteer shoutouts submitted by staff members and stuck them around the volunteer check-in room so they can see the impact they have. I did a lap to check on all of the volunteers. At 11:30 Molly and I packed up all of the sweatshirts to move out of the conference room. We moved all of the boxes to Molly’s office. We put the ones for todays volunteers in the volunteer check-in room so they could grab them after their shifts. We hung out with the volunteers at shift change and I made them all eat bundtinis. After everyone was settled we headed to Molly’s office. There were a bunch of donated snacks from a drive that one of our volunteers organized. The new intern and I played tetris in the snack cabinet to make it all fit. After this we just worked on content until around 1:50 when we headed to the garden for the volunteer service award ceremony. It was so beautiful! The family of the volunteer that the award is named after came and it was very sweet. Molly and Amy both did a great job speaking and presenting the award. We took lots of pictures and hung out with the volunteers and staff who attended. Afterwards we cleaned up and I worked on posting content from the ceremony. I found Amy and had her give me her input before positing. Finally I left for the day at 4pm. It was a long, but great day!
