This morning I worked on my blog, but the wifi was being terrible so it took Yessica and I forever to get connected to the internet so we weren’t able to get much done before we had an in person task to do. Since it’s volunteer appreciation week we are awarding 2 volunteers a service award named after the first UCBC Cares volunteer. The community volunteer who we selected won’t be here on Friday when we’re having the ceremony so we had an impromptu ceremony this morning on the infusion floor. Molly gave a speech with kind quotes from staff about how amazing the recipient is. We took pictures then Yessica and I headed to Amy’s office to work on content while Amy and Molly went to a meeting. We worked on filling in all the gaps in our social media document. After their meeting, Amy and Molly went to pick up the sweatshirts for staff and volunteers. Yessica and I got a cart to help bring them all inside. Next we had a meeting to debrief the Growing Together event. I thought the even was awesome, we talked about things to improve on such as timing stations, shortening some aspects, and making the bell more approachable to parents. After this meeting we grabbed lunch which was Mcalisters. We headed down to the new social work office to organize and package sweatshirts for volunteers. Molly and I got into an assembly line of folding, wrapping, and adding the note. We cranked them all out. I wrote a thank you card to Nothing Bundt Cakes for donating bundtinis for our volunteers and had Molly, Amy, and Yessica sign it. I took my sweatshirt and went home for the day!
