Summary of Week 16 Matched with Competencies
- 3.2: Deliver health education and promotion interventions.
- 3.2.4: Deliver health education and promotion as designed.
- This week we hosted another Look Good Feel Better event! I did not do the direct delivery of health promotion, our cosmetologist did, but I helped with all other aspects of the event. This event is designed to help women going through treatment or who have just finished to feel like themselves again. It’s so important to care for the whole person when going through cancer and this is a places that UCBC Cares is able to help!
- 3.2.4: Deliver health education and promotion as designed.
Reflection of Week 16
- This was a very short week so there isn’t a ton to reflect on that’s specific to this week so I’ll reflect on the semester as a whole as well. It was awesome to end the semester with the same program we started it with, Look Good Feel Better. This program really embodies the work I want to do in helping people through their medical journeys as people not just patients. I’ve absolutely loved getting to support the patients and caregivers at UCBC. I’ve truly felt like I’ve had an impact on them and the community, which is very encouraging and makes me feel like my work has purpose. I’ve learned and honed so many skills here that I’ll be able to use throughout the rest of my life and career. I feel lucky to have had such an awesome experience and caring preceptor.
