Kesem at The University of Georgia
Kesem is a national non-profit that supports children facing a parent’s cancer. We provide year round support for them, but our main programming is weeklong, sleep away summer camp. I was a camper before coming to UGA as a students, so the cause is very near to my heart. I have been a member of the executive board since my sophomore year of college. As a Make The Magic coordinator, I planned and executed a fundraiser gala hosting 175 guests and raising $65,000. As a chapter Director, I oversee the executive board and support their efforts in fundraising, recruitment, and planning. In fiscal year 2025 we raised $190,00, supported over 200 children, trained 75 counselors, and held two weeks of camp.

Oasis Católico
The mission of the Oasis Católico is to be a place where English and Spanish speaking cultures can connect and enrich one another, and most importantly, heal hearts. Oasis provides free after-school tutoring to 100 children from pre-k through 5th grade in the Pinewood Estates Neighborhood. Oasis acts as a safe haven for the Latino community and helps the through hardships. I served as a tutor in the kindergarten room. Each week I created lesson plans for 1-2 children and navigated a language barrier with my students.
Campus Kitchen
Campus Kitchen is a student-powered hunger relief program in Athens, GA. They transform unused food from grocery stores and farms into meals and groceries for people facing food insecurity in the Athens area. Campus Kitchen not only provides hunger relief, but also reduces food waste by using ingredients that would otherwise be thrown away. My favorite shift to work is called Soups and Sides where we prepare and package smaller dishes.
