I came in late today because I wasn’t feeling well. When I did make it to the office I worked on content for a while. I worked on captions for posts for volunteer appreciation week and Yessica and I talked about which posts she was struggling with so I can take a stab at them. I didn’t get to work on content for too long because there was a shortage of volunteers on the 1st floor so we went down to fill in. We chatted with the volunteers and helped patients when needed. Around 11am we had a representative from a local ministry come in with donated lunch for our patients. Her husband has been a patient and they saw a need for patients and their caregivers of a meal while receiving treatment. Once the man from Chick-Fil-A delivered all of the meals we put custom stickers on the boxes explaining who they were donated from. We then loaded up 2 carts and walked each side of the infusion floor. It was super fun to surprise patients with a free lunch and make them happy. We still had meals left after going around the infusion floor so we went down to radiology then went through the waiting areas on each floor. Once all the boxes were handed out it was time for us to have lunch! Today we had Panda Express and it was awesome! The lady from the ministry stayed for lunch so we got to hang out and chat which felt like good stewardship.
