Summary of week 5 Matched with Competencies

  • 3.2: Deliver health education and promotion interventions.
    • 3.2.4: Deliver health education and promotion as designed.
      • Look Good Feel Better is a national health promotion program that we got to put on this week. It helps women regain confidence and feel more like themselves when treatment has taken so much from them. This program focuses on improving quality of life and forming community rather than preventing disease or injury. This program is so cool and helpful for these women.
  • 3.1: Coordinate the delivery of intervention(s) consistent with the implementation plan
    • 3.1.5: Train staff and volunteers to ensure fidelity.
      • This week we helped Molly make training videos for new volunteers or returning volunteers who are trying a new position. These videos will be very helpful not only to the volunteers, but to Molly too so she doesn’t have to answer as many questions or walk volunteers through the entire process if she doesn’t have time.

Reflection of week 5

  • This was a short and chill week, partially because I got to take a day off, but also because we were just in the swing of things! I was so excited to finally host Look Good Feel Better after promoting it for so long. It was a really fun and sweet event and I could see how important it was for the women who attended. Even if they don’t care too much about makeup, the community it brought them was beautiful and is the exact kind of thing I wanted to be a part of throughout this internship. This week had a lot of content making as usual!
