Today started with me finishing my weekly summary of last week. At 9am we headed up to Amy’s office for our weekly content meeting. We got approval on some promotional posts for Strollin, talked about Breast Friends recap posts, and our Valentine’s post. I emailed all of the staff that we plan on featuring in our post to make sure they are okay with us using their names and photos. We wrapped up this meeting early because we had to go back to the venue from this weekend to grab the rest of the decor and things that were left behind. As a team we moved fast and got everything together and headed back to the office. On these car rides we debriefed Breast Friends. We talked about what went well and what adjustments can be made to make next year even better. We headed to our storage unit to drop off the supplies we picked up from the venue. While in there we organized some of our supplies and grabbed all of the makeup bags we needed for Look Good Feel Better. We headed back to the main building and ate Chick-Fil-A for lunch! After lunch we headed up the 3rd floor conference room to set up for the event. I cleaned all the tables and set out the necessary supplies. Caroline and I headed downstairs to greet the women here for our event and walk them upstairs. There’s one woman that I’ve gotten to talk to a few times that was there so it was nice to see her and speak to her again! I took up the first group of ladies that arrived and headed back down to the lobby to wait for more. While in the lobby an older gentleman had a fall. One of the volunteers helped me move some tables out of the way for other people in the building to be able to move around the area he was in. Molly had me keep an eye on the volunteers until the situation was handled by EMS while they got the event started. Once I headed back upstairs I helped some ladies unpack their makeup bags. The cosmologist knew what she was doing so once she got started she didn’t really need anything from us. Since the event got rescheduled because of the weather I didn’t ask off of my other job in time so I had to leave the event early to get to work. I wish I could have stayed the whole time to learn and observe more because the group of ladies we had were so cute. It really warms my heart to see them bonding and making jokes about the difficulties they’ve gone through. Creating community is one of the goals of the foundation and this event really hit the nail on the head.
