Today started with blogging and some content work for our cancer awareness month posts in the future. Molly then tasked me with going out to businesses with Strollin sponsorship packets and talking to managers about being a part of our event. She gave me advice and a little script of what to say and sent me on my way! I went to the complex that houses the GI building and went to 5 businesses over there. Some managers were not in the offices so I left the packet for them to review at a late date. I was able to speak to a few managers who seemed interested and got their contact information so Molly can follow up at a later date. After canvasing I headed back to the main office. Molly then asked us to be actresses in her new set of volunteer training videos. We role-played with the volunteers how to greet patients walking into the building and how to assist patients who drive up and need a wheelchair to get into the building. Molly recorded our interactions and will edit them together and add voiceover instructions for the new volunteers to learn how to greet patients and how to direct them to check in.
