Today started off with blogging about yesterday. Once Molly got here we headed up to the third floor to greet the volunteers and surprise her with birthday decorations. Then I headed into Amy’s office to get final approval to schedule the Gallbladder and Bileduct Cancer Awareness post on Facebook and Instagram. I got it scheduled to post on February 1st. Then Amy asked me to make a presentation for the physicians Lunch and Learn next week where drug reps come and present new products to our physicians. I copied the slides from last year and edited them for this year’s drugs. Then we hopped on a call with some representatives from The Cancer Foundation to talk about our upcoming lunch and learn in partnership with them as well as the vendor fair which takes place in March. I went downstairs to talk to the volunteers and take videos of the harpist we had playing in the lobby. It was so cool because I’ve never seen a harp in real life before. Once I had enough footage and was done chatting I headed back upstairs and edited the videos into a reel we can post. We have enough scheduled content right now so it’s going into the filler archives for now until we need something to post later down the line. At this point Molly and Amy had broken into Molly’s birthday cookie cake so I had a piece while we worked. Yessica came by for a bit to say happy birthday and chat. Molly and I hung out with the volunteers during their shift change, then headed downstairs to greet Max the service dog and his owner. We chatted and walked Max around the infusion floor to greet the staff and patients. It’s awesome to see how much a dog can get people to light up when they’re going through something difficult. One of the ladies we talked to was the newest lady at the breast cancer support group so it was nice to see and talk to her again. After taking pictures of Max I headed home for another weekend of snow!
